Education and advanced training:
In 1973 he graduated from the Frunze Polytechnic Institute of Kyrgyzstan with a degree in hydrogeology and engineering geology. Since 1994 - Candidate of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences, dissertation on the topic: "Features of hydrogeodynamics of deep horizons of artesian basins in areas of neotectonic activation (on the example of the East Chui and Issyk-Kul artesian basins)".
Work experience:
From 1973 to 1976 worked as an engineer - hydrogeologist in the Semipalatinsk hydrogeological expedition (Kazakh SSR), during 1976 he worked as an engineer - geologist in the Kyrgyz State Institute of Engineering Surveys.
From 1976 to 1991 worked as a researcher at the Institute of Geology of the Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic in the laboratory of regional hydrogeology.
From 1991 to 92 - at the Institute of Physics of the Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, in the laboratory of radioisotope research methods under the direction of Chalov P.I.
From 1992 to 2006 worked at the Institute of Water Problems and Hydropower of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, since 1996 as the head of the groundwater laboratory.
From 2006 to 2012, worked at the Central Asian Institute for Applied Geosciences (CAIAG) as the head of the «Climate, Water and Natural Resources» department.
From 2012 to the present, he has been working in the Climate, Water and Natural Resources Department as a senior researcher.
Work and cooperation in projects:
From 1997 to 2000, on the instructions of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and Civil Defense of the Republic, performed contractual work to study and prevent the processes of swamping and flooding of settlements on the territory of Kyrgyzstan.
In 1999-2000 under the ISTC grant (KR-330d) prepared and participated in the project on the topic: "Study of the water balance and hydrodynamics of Lake Issyk-Kul by isotopic methods."
In 1999, in honor of the 45th anniversary of the National Academy of Sciences of Kyrgyzstan, he was awarded a certificate of honor for achieving high results in the development of scientific research in the field of hydrogeology.
In 2000-2001 participation in the environmental study of uranium pollution in the area of the village of Kadzhi-Sai in the APELIK (COPERNICUS-2) project.
Within the framework of a three-year (2000-2002) research work on the topic: “Study of the environmental conditions of groundwater in the Issyk-Kul depression in terms of protection against pollution and depletion”, studies of the processes of groundwater pollution were carried out and a method for assessing their vulnerability to pollution was developed.
In 2003-2005 performed research work on the topic: "To study the mechanism of formation of groundwater resources and the relationship of the main elements of the hydrogeological system of the Issyk-Kul basin for the purpose of rational use."
From 2008 to 2014 participation in the implementation of the project "Water in Central Asia".
In the period 2016-2019 carried out glaciological research within the framework of the project "International Climate Initiative (IKI), Ecosystem Adaptation (EbA) to climate change in the highlands of Central Asia".
From 2019 to 2021 participation in glaciological studies in the project under the contract "S - 6437", "Monitoring and mass-balance studies on glaciers No. 354 (Ak-Shyirak massif) and Western Suek (Jetim-Bel ridge)".
2020-2021 participation in the World Bank project "Forest Landscape Restoration Opportunities in the Kyrgyz Republic".
The main direction of scientific research:
During his scientific activity, performed research in the field of hydrodynamics, hydrogeochemistry, hydrogeothermy of groundwater of deep horizons (thermal mineral waters), as well as research on the relationship of surface and groundwater, including the isotope method (isotopes of uranium 234/238), the regime of groundwater levels , assessment of the value of their resources and rational use in the basins of Kyrgyzstan.
The main scientific activity at present is the study of changes in glaciers and lakes using satellite information, the regime and ecological state of groundwater, and trends in changes in water resources. More than 30 articles published.
