On November 29, 2024, the National Water Forum was held in the village of Bosteri on the shore of Lake Issyk-Kul, organized by the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic with the support of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the World Bank. The forum brought together leading experts, representatives of government agencies, scientific organizations and international donors.

The main objective of the event was to discuss strategies for the conservation and rational use of water resources in Kyrgyzstan in the context of climate change, as well as measures to protect the unique ecosystem of Lake Issyk-Kul. An important element of the forum was informing participants about national priorities in the field of water resources and opportunities for investment development of water initiatives.
The Central Asian Institute for Applied Geosciences (CAIAG) was represented by Co-Director Bolot Moldobekov and Head of the Department of Climate, Water and Geoecology Ryskul Usubaliev. As part of the forum, Bolot Moldobekov made a presentation on the current state and problems of Lake Issyk-Kul using the Aral Sea as an example.
The importance of the forum was emphasized by the participation of key government and scientific organizations, as well as international partners, which made it possible to develop a comprehensive approach to addressing water management issues.
