Head of the department "Geodynamics and georisks"
Functional responsibilities:
- leadership and further development of an interdisciplinary research department in the field of geodynamics and related natural hazards in the Central Asian region in the following areas:
- research and interpretation of deformations and mass movements in Central Asia based on observations by modern methods of satellite geodesy, remote sensing and structural geology,
- determination of the actual spatio-temporal stress states of the earth's crust based on the observed deformation of massifs and earthquake sources;
- building models for geotechnical applications and risk assessment;
- modeling and interpretation of the structure and dynamics of the earth's crust and upper mantle in Central Asia based on seismic, gravity, deformation and structural-geological data;
- development of strategies for continuous observation, explanation and assessment of danger and geocatastrophes;·
- preparation and implementation of trainings/increasing events in cooperation with universities and research institutes.
Qualification requirements:·
- Graduate Diploma in Geosciences or a specialized natural science discipline, an advanced degree;
- extensive practical experience in the field of geological scientific or applied research in the direction of the relevant department;
- experience in the development and implementation of interdisciplinary projects with international partners;
- Willingness to work in a team, experience as a team leader is desirable;
- readiness for teaching and educational activities;
Entry into office: As soon as possible
Contract duration: at the beginning of 2 years
Salary: in accordance with the CAIAG staffing table
