On March 25, 2025, Bishkek hosted the Introductory forum “Glacier Conservation and Sustainable Development of Mountain Areas” organized by the Public Foundation “Open Innovations R&D” and “Green Alliance of Kyrgyzstan”. The event brought together experts and scientists who discussed the problems of glacier degradation and its impact on water resources and ecosystems of Kyrgyzstan.
Usubaliev Ryskul Abdyjakypovich, Head of Department No. 2 “Climate, Water and Geoecology” of the Central Asian Institute for Applied Geosciences (CAIAG) made a report on “The state of glaciers in Kyrgyzstan in the context of modern climate change”.
