Training on project management of the International Charter on Space and Major Disasters
On September 26-27, 2024, the Central Asian Institute for Applied Geosciences (CAIAG) hosted the International Charter on Space and Major Disasters project manager training. The training was conducted by the Charter's Executive Secretary Shiraishi Takeshi (JAXA). During the training, participants were told and shown how to use the Charter's COS-2 operating system and Charter Mapper program.

The International Charter on Space and Major Disasters is an international non-profit agreement that provides for the free acquisition and use of remote sensing satellite imagery by its members in the event of major disasters. The Charter was founded by the European Space Agency (ESA) and the French agency CNES after the UNISPACE III conference (Vienna, Austria, July 1999). It was officially launched on November 1, 2000.
