CAIAG hosted a summer school on hydrological modeling using the SPHY model
On August 13-14, 2024, the Central Asian Institute for Applied Geosciences (CAIAG) hosted a summer school on hydrological modeling using the SPHY (Spatial Processes in HYdrology) model with the support of the University of Fribourg. The training was conducted by Doctor Jingheng Huang and Doctor Eric Pohl. The event was organized within the framework of the GEF-UNDP-UNESCO project "Strengthening the Resilience of Central Asian Countries by Enabling Regional Cooperation to Assess High Altitude Glacio-nival Systems to Develop Integrated Methods for Sustainable Development and Adaptation to Climate Change".

The summer school brought together specialists from various Central Asian countries. CAIAG was represented by Olga Kalashnikova, Ruslan Kenjebaev and Mukhammed Esenaman uulu, employees of the Climate, Water and Geoecology Department.
The summer school became an important platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience, contributing to further strengthening regional cooperation in Central Asia in the field of water resources assessment and management.
