“Glaciers in the mountainous regions of Central Asia in the conditions of climate change”
The Central Asian Institute for Applied Geosciences (CAIAG), together with the National Commission of the Kyrgyz Republic for UNESCO, 25th of November held a round table on the topic “Glaciers in the mountainous regions of Central Asia in the conditions of climate change”.
At the initiative of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic S.N. Zhaparov. The corresponding resolution was adopted on December 16, 2021 at the Plenary meeting of the 76th session of the UN. Interactions on the implementation of federal actions of the Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic dated March 1, 2022 No. 95-r, a Roadmap was adopted to cover the Year of Protection of Mountain Ecosystems and Climate Resilience.
Within the framework of the Roadmap, a round table was held on the topic: “Glaciers of the mountainous regions of Central Asia in the context of climate change” together with the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic, with the National Commission of the Kyrgyz Republic for UNESCO, the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Central Asian Institute for Applied Geosciences, with the support of the UNESCO Cluster Office in Almaty.
