On April 23-25, 2025, CAIAG staff took part in the General Assembly of WE-ACT project partners, held in Enschede, the Netherlands

   The Assembly addressed key issues related to the implementation of the Decision Support System (DSS) in the transboundary basins of the Naryn and Kara-Darya rivers, river runoff modeling with consideration of climate change scenarios, as well as demonstration of current scientific and technical results of the project.

 The Central Asian Institute for Applied Geosciences (CAIAG) was represented at the event by:

  • Bolot Moldobekov, Co-Director of CAIAG,
  • Ryskul Usubaliev, Head of Climate, Water and Geoecology Department,
  • Azamat Osmonov, researcher of the Department "Climate, Water and Geoecology".

Special attention was paid to the analysis of the progress achieved, plans for the next stage of implementation, as well as discussion of current challenges - in particular, data availability, risk and financial management. The sessions addressed issues of coordination between partners and further strengthening of cooperation within the project.
