The Central Asian Institute of Applied Geosciences (CAIAG) plays a key role in strengthening the Kyrgyz Republic's adaptation efforts to climate change. As part of cooperation with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), CAIAG was engaged to conduct a climate risk and vulnerability assessment (CRVA) of target sectors and regions of Kyrgyzstan, as well as develop adaptation plans based on the data obtained.
Climate risk and vulnerability assessment (CRA) is a fundamental step in developing effective climate change adaptation strategies. This process involves analyzing climate data, its impact on various economic sectors and regions of the country, and identifying vulnerabilities and potential risks associated with climate change.

Each of these workshops also aimed to form sectoral working groups on the National Adaptation Plan (NAP) for the relevant sectors. These groups will work to further develop and implement adaptation measures in accordance with the priorities of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The events also help to raise partners' awareness of the progress of the NAP project and the country's preparation for the challenges of climate change.
The goal of the project is to ensure sustainable development of the Kyrgyz Republic and strengthen its ability to withstand climate change.
