CAIAG showcases the capabilities of the Kyrgyz Data Cube at the "AgroTechExpo-2026" exhibition

From October 23–25, 2026, the Central Asian Institute for Applied Geosciences introduced visitors to the "AgroTechExpo-2026" innovation zone in Bishkek to the functions of the Kyrgyz Data Cube (https://kyrgyzstan.sibelius-datacube.org/).

The Kyrgyz Data Cube provides open access to 18 years' worth of satellite imagery and data covering pastures, snow, drought, and environmental conditions across Kyrgyzstan.

Information on vegetation health, leaf water content, pasture conditions, drought, snow cover, and land surface temperature can be utilized by professionals in fields such as livestock farming, agriculture, forestry, hydrology, meteorology, and emergency management—even those with no prior experience working with satellite data. Users can analyze environmental conditions and trends without needing to visit the sites in person.

The Central Asian Institute for Applied Geosciences actively employs satellite imagery to analyze the environment—for instance, by compiling a glacier catalog, monitoring snow accumulation, providing a basis for the rational use of natural resources, and researching the impact of climate change on risks related to food and energy security.
