CAIAG Co-Director Bolot Moldobekov Participated in a Meeting to Discuss a Mechanism for Water and Energy Cooperation in Central Asia
On December 4, in Tashkent, Bolot Moldobekov, Co-Director of the Central Asian Institute for Applied Geosciences, participated in the fifth meeting of the Regional Working Group to discuss a mutually beneficial mechanism for water and energy cooperation in Central Asia.
Representatives of ministries, water resources agencies, research institutes, and experts from Germany, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Switzerland, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, the United States, Uzbekistan, and international organizations discussed countries' needs for water and energy resource management, the use of an agreed-upon model, professional development, and the provision of reliable data.

The meeting of the Regional Working Group aims to strengthen partner trust, adapt, and apply best practices in water and energy resource management.
The event was organized within the framework of the GIZ regional program "Green Central Asia, Phase II" jointly with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, the Scientific Information Center of the Interstate Coordination Water Commission, and the International Climate Initiative.
