A scientific-practical conference was held: “Mudflow safety - 50 years of Kazelezashchita’s activities: status and prospects”
On November 22-25, 2023, co-director of the Central Asian Institute of Applied Geosciences (CAIAG) Dr. Bolot Moldobekov took part in the International Scientific and Practical Conference dedicated to the fiftieth anniversary of the creation of the state institution “Kazselezaschita” on the topic: “Mudflow safety - 50 years of activity of Kazselezaschita : state and prospects".
The conference addressed such important issues as: state policy in the CIS countries to ensure mudflow safety, engineering protection against mudflows (construction of mudflow retention dams and mudflow control structures), preventive mudflow protection work and monitoring of mudflow hazard, development of theoretical and scientific-methodological foundations for studying mudflows, forecasting and assessment of mudflow risks, modern methods of using ICT, etc.
