Trainings organized by the USAID Regional Project on water resources and the environment
Research worker of the department "Climate, water and natural resources". Kalashnikova O.Yu has completed a course of study
The USAID Regional Water and Environment Project, with the support of experts from the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI), has launched a Robust Decision Support (RDS) for the Syrdarya River Basin to help decision makers understand and take into account future uncertainties in their decisions.
The RDS process is accompanied by the development of two integrated models - the Water Evalution and Planning System (WEAP) and the Low Emissions Analysis Platform (LEAP), which will help analyze and visualize the impact of decisions made in the form of potential scenarios. This series of capacity building activities will provide initial training on the WEAP and LEAP models developed as part of the Project activities.
The training was conducted personally (offline) in Tashkent (May, 2022). Water sector specialists, university professors, programmers and employees of scientific institutes from Central Asian countries (Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan) took part.
Kalashnikova O. Yu., an employee of the department "Climate, water and Natural Resources", took the training course from the CAIAG.
Under the guidance of modeling experts from Stockholm and the Environment Institute (SEI), Jason Vacy and Annette Huber-Lee, lectures and practical classes on working with WEAP & LEAP models were held, and software for working in models was installed.
