Partners from Bavaria got acquainted with the activities of CAIAG and discussed possible cooperation in the field of water resources

On September 18, 2026, a delegation from the Technical University of Munich (TUM), the Munich Water Management Authority (WWA Munich), the Munich City Department of Construction, the Bavarian Research Alliance (BayFOR), the Weilheim Water Management Authority (WWA WM), the Bavarian Environmental Agency (LfU), the Ingolstadt Water Management Authority (WWA Ingolstadt), Biberach University of Applied Sciences (Hochschule Biberach) visited the Central Asian Institute for Applied Geosciences as a partner of the project "WE-ACT: climate-smart water allocation". 

During the meeting, Head of the Department of "Capacity Development and Scientific Cooperation" Nazgul Alybayeva presented the structure of CAIAG, its main activities and research priorities.

Head of the "Climate, Water and Geoecology" Department Olga Kalashnikova spoke about the ongoing projects and research in the field of water resources at CAIAG.

The coordinator of the WE-ACT project Dr. Jingshui Huang presented information about the goals of the project, current results and the main directions of its implementation.

At the end of the meeting, the Kyrgyz and German colleagues discussed prospects for further cooperation in the field of water resources management and the possibility of implementing joint initiatives aimed at addressing current water and climate challenges in Central Asia.
