CAIAG Staff Participate in Knowledge Exchange on New Technologie

From August 18 to 20, 2026, staff from the Central Asian Institute for Applied Geosciences (CAIAG) participated in the 10th International Conference on "Digital Belt and Road" and the 6th Symposium on Earth Observation in Arid and Semi-Arid Regions.

Researchers from Kyrgyzstan, Austria, Bangladesh, Germany, China, the Netherlands, Russia, Thailand, Uzbekistan, and France discussed topics related to new technologies.

CAIAG Co-Director Bolot Moldobekov spoke at a session on digital technologies for disaster risk reduction, presenting a paper titled "Remote Sensing Methods Used to Study Hazardous Natural Processes and Phenomena in Kyrgyzstan".

Ulan Abdybachaev, Head of the Geodynamics and Georisks Department at CAIAG, presented a paper titled "Sentinel Asia Platform: Using Remote Sensing Data for Hazard Assessment in the Central Asian Region".

Olga Kalashnikova, Head of the Climate, Water, and Geoecology Department at CAIAG, presented the results of her research on glaciers and snow cover using Earth remote sensing to participants of the session "Cryospheric Carbon-Water-Energy Cycles Under Climate Change and Their Implications for Sustainable Development".
