Olga Kalashnikova Presented a Paper at the European Geosciences Union Assembly

The annual General Assembly of the European Geosciences Union (EGU General Assembly 2026) was held from May 3-8, 2026.

Head of the Climate, Water, and Geoecology Department Olga Kalashnikova presented a paper titled "Predictive WEAP modeling for NEXUS management in the Naryn River basin (Kyrgyzstan)" in the Nexus approaches section.

This year, 22,497 specialists participated in a hybrid format. 20,173 papers were presented at the 1,014 sessions of the assembly.

The meeting of researchers facilitates the discussion of research results and the exchange of new ideas for solving important problems.

The assembly's discussions included topics on the use of artificial intelligence in geosciences, assessing its opportunities and risks, and the application of machine learning to improving Earth system models.
