CAIAG is Promoting the Development of a Regional Seismic Hazard Warning System
On January 16, Bolot Duishenalievich Moldobekov, Co-Director of the Central Asian Institute for Applied Geosciences, participated in an interagency meeting on emergency risk reduction in Central Asia.
As the meeting's chair, Dzhergalbek Isakeevich Ukashev, Director of the Center for Emergency Situations and Disaster Risk Reduction, briefed the participants on the development of a regional mechanism for early warning and mutual information in the event of a seismic hazard, the implementation of interagency and interstate documents, and the results.

Jergalbek Ukashev emphasized the Center's role as an interstate coordinating and expert organization.
Bolot Moldobekov reported on the current status and priorities of seismological observations in the Kyrgyz Republic. He stated that the seismological stations of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Uzbekistan were integrated in 2025.
Zhapsarbay Sultanbekovich Sultanbekov, Director of the LLP "National Scientific Center for Seismological Monitoring and Research” of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, said that within the framework of the agreement between CAIAG and the LLP, national seismological stations are being integrated into a unified regional information and analytical infrastructure for rapid data exchange.
The parties reaffirmed their agreement on the need to accelerate and coordinate the development of a regional early warning system and expressed their willingness to deepen their cooperation.
