In CAIAG Was Held a Working Meeting to Discuss Kyrgyzstan's Water Resources with the Participation of the US Geological Survey

On June 22, the Central Asian Institute for Applied Geosciences held a working meeting with a delegation from the US Geological Survey (USGS), including water resources specialists Kristina Masterson, John Lane, Lea Davidson, and Anteneh Sarbanes.
The meeting focused on scientific collaboration to study Kyrgyzstan's water resources.
USGS representative Kristina Masterson explained that their organization is focused exclusively on scientific work based on open science and open data principles. The USGS works on, for example, monitoring and analyzing basic water quality and systematizing data on natural disasters, energy, minerals and ecosystems.
Chair of the Board of the Green Alliance of Kyrgyzstan Maral Sagynalieva introduced a presentation on interagency work to implement green technologies, including with the participation of the banking sector, to promote a green economy.
Co-Director Bolot Moldobekov presented the history of the Central Asian Institute for Applied Geosciences and its main areas of work, including equipping stations, methods for studying glaciers, snow cover, and the atmosphere, a seismic early warning network, and a catalog of landslide and mudflow risk zones.
Head of the Department of Water Supply and Sanitation at KSTU Tashmukhamed Karimov introduces a presentation "The Center for Training, Retraining, and Advanced Training of Water Supply Sector Employees in the Kyrgyz Republic".
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to intensify communication between scientists to formulate joint research topics, exchange data, and provide training.
