CAIAG is a multidisciplinary institute comprising most of the geoscientific disciplines like geology, glaciology, hydrology, limnology, climatology, geophysics, geodesy and remote sensing.

CAIAG operates dedicated monitoring networks for seismology and geodesy, a network of hydro-meteorological monitoring stations and high mountain glacier observatories.

Geodata and observational data are managed in a Geodata Information System including a Geodatabase and respective Web interfaces for easy and open access.

CAIAG has a team of scientists to organize training courses, to prepare educational material and to establish knowledge transfer to the society and stake holders.

SDSS
    • The Sensor Data Storage System (SDSS) developed by CAIAG is the main storage system and access point for the raw meteorological and hydrological data of all CAWa and other ROMPS stations in Central Asia as well as for a lot of the radar altimetry data of Asian lakes/reservoirs (including Meta data).
    • A graphic user interface offers the possibility to interactively retrieve data of the CAWa stations and selected lakes/reservoirs with a web browser in several languages (English, Russian, and German). With this open-access system, the data of the time-series can be displayed and downloaded as XML or CSV file, which you can open by Microsoft Excel or in data analysis tools such as R. The data from the stations are seamlessly integrated into the database of the SDSS after their arrival.
