 “Green Climate Fund” (GCF) project

       Today in Bishkek a seminar for the technical expert group of the “Green Climate Fund” (GCF) project was held.

       A seminar for the Technical Expert Group of the “Green Climate Fund” (GCF) project was held today in Bishkek.

       The organizers of this seminar are the State Agency for Environmental Protection and Forestry under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic (SAEPF) and the UN Office in Kyrgyzstan on food and agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic as part of the Program for preparing Kyrgyzstan for access to GCF resources.

       The purpose of the seminar is to familiarize experts and industry ministries and departments with the procedures for evaluating GCF projects and with the national “No objections” procedure.

       It should be noted that the SAEPF as the National Authorized Body for the GCF work is actively working together with interested parties (stakeholders), as well as working through issues of ensuring effective and efficient discussion, management, use and monitoring of finance provided by the Green Climate Fund for the Kyrgyz Republic. Also the State Agency (SAEPF) together with international organizations developed 2 project proposals for GCF consideration (grant funds).

       The seminar was attended by representatives of ministries and departments, international and NGOs, as well as scientists from the National Academy of Sciences, universities and the leaders of our Institute.
